A rural Escape
Guests from Singapore to Santa Fe, Manila to Melbourne, all rave about Bellevue Farmstay, nestled in a hillside at Scotts Creek, just minutes from the world-famous Great Ocean Road and Twelve Apostles. With majestic views from all rooms, our self-contained farm house comfortably sleeps up to 10. The Farmhouse has 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, large lounge and family rooms (with additional sofa beds), a dining room, fully-equipped kitchen, wood-burning heater and split heating/cooling system Proudly solar-powered, we also collect our own rainwater.
At the heart of Bellevue, a 350-acre working family farm, are our pets and livestock, and you'll meet them all personally with one-on-one hand-feeding sessions: Alana (the orphaned camel), Banjo, Victor, Andy, Belle & her new baby cria Sadie (the alpacas), Maggie & The Boys (the sheep) and Bruno (the huge beef steer) who weighs a tonne - literally! Simon & Garfunkel (the miniature goats) and Acca & Bruce (the large goats) who especially love treats of apples and carrots, as do our horses. Our rooster, hens and chickens freely walk around the property (lucky guests may get a warm egg in the mornings). Native birds include iridescent parrots, rosellas, cockatoos, galahs, willy wagtails, kookaburras and magpies. Plus, you may also say g’day to native wildlife (koalas, echidnas, kookaburras and kangaroos) on the walking trails. Guests can also visit a rotary dairy farm where 340 cows are milked.
An easy 2 1/2 hour drive (or train ride) from Melbourne, Bellevue Farmstay is just 20 minutes from the breathtaking Great Ocean Road and world-famous Shipwreck Coast featuring the Twelve Apostles and Loch Ard Gorge, Port Campbell National Park, London Bridge and the Bay of Islands at Peterborough. Pick your own delicious strawberries at the nearby Timboon township, famous for the historic Timboon to Camperdown Rail Trail. Explore the amazing volcanic lakes and craters at Camperdown or the magnificent ferns and soaring forests of the Great Otway National Park.
So join gregarious hosts the Couch Family (the fifth generation owners of Bellevue) in exploring Bellevue, enjoying the views, taking a bush walk with some wildlife, mapping out some day trips around our magnificent region or just simply relaxing.
